Studio Registrar
Description:
As the Studio Registrar for Begum Studio, you will responsible for supporting the artist and studio to manage artwork logistics, spanning archival management, exhibitions, distribution, and sales administration. You will be expected to manage the studio database, gallery consignments, invoicing, artwork documentation and shipping logistics.
Begum Studio is looking for someone with minimum two years’ experience. Someone with attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the desire to learn and develop in a busy working environment. We are a small team so we are looking for someone who can work closely with others and provide dedicated support to both the artist and wider studio.
Responsibilities include:
Database - managing the artwork database using Artlogic.
Production costs - calculating and recording production costs for all artworks, in collaboration with the studio team.
Invoicing - Raising invoices for gallery sales and commissions using Artlogic and Xero. Training will be provided. Support with bookkeeping may also be required, but training will be providing.
Exhibition logistics_ general artwork lists / consignments / technical support for galleries and exhibitions.
Consignment - managing gallery consignments and regularly updating with new works. Communicating with galleries and clients, sharing work details and images, and providing any technical information requested.
Artworks instructions - assisting the studio team to produce installation instructions and maintenance manuals.
Shipping - managing all logistical and communications with the galleries. Including scheduling deliveries slots and providing all information required prior to collection.
Documentation - managing in-house and external artwork documentation, including booking photographers, liaising with galleries and filing images.
Research – assisting with material research, sourcing suppliers, fabricators, and ordering materials. Liaising with conservators when required, with the assistance of the studio team.
Website - regularly updating the website with new projects and works.
Press - supporting the writing and editing of text for press releases, articles, interviews and project proposals.
Requirements:
Excellent computer skills and experience working on Mac, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office.
Significant administrative experience in a gallery or studio environment (2yrs)
Proficient in Artlogic or similar artwork database software.
Experience with Xero or similar accounting software.
The ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage multiple priorities.
Friendly and personable, with the ability to forge strong relationships with people.
Super organised, with first-class co-ordination and prioritisation skills.
Dedicated, positive, diligent and open to learning.
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, pro-active and not afraid to take initiative.
High level of written and spoken English.

Terms:
£32,000 pro rota
8 hours a day, 9am-5pm (including 1 hour paid lunch)
4 days a week - Monday to Thursday
PAYE contract, salary calculated pro rota
